Casey Legler is best known for being the first woman with a contract as a male Ford Model, the artist/activist and former Olympic swimmer will share her soon to be published book Godspeed: A Memoir at this Lunchtime Reading. Publisher – Atria Books /Simon and Schuster
Legler was born in Fréjus, Var, in the South of France.[1] She attended school in Florida, and began competitive swimming at the age of 13. She competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics at the age of 19, where she came 29th in the Women’s 50 metres Freestyle event and 10th in the Women’s 4×100 metres Freestyle Relay event.

She gave up the sport two years later and subsequently studied architecture, obtained a scholarship for law school, and began medical school, before moving to New York to focus on a musical and artistic career. She was signed by Ford Model after her friend, the photographer Cass Bird, showed them photographs of her.
