Laurie Berg

Laurie Berg works in multiple forms including dance, performance, collage, jewelry, and video. She was a 2013 New York Live Arts Studio Series Resident Artist and a 2010 Movement Research Artist-In-Residence.  Her newest work, The Afterlife, will be presented May 15-17, 2014 at The Invisible Dog Art Center as part of The Joyce Theater's new UNLEASHED series.  She is also involved with a team of artists/producers to present a festival of plays and art works by legendary performance artist, Tom Murrin, at La Mama E.T.C. in April 2014.  Her various projects have appeared at Avant-Garde-Arama: New Moon at Abrons Arts Center, WiM at the TBG Theater, Pieter PASD in Los Angeles, Roulette Intermedium, Movement Research at the Judson Church, Food For Thought, Danspace Project as part of PLATFORM: 2011 Body Madness – Rhythm and Humor, BRINK at Dixon Place, FACADE/FASAD, 303 Gallery, ICMC at Stony Brook University, the TANK, draftwork, AUNTS, and CATCH. She performed as part of In and Out of Uniform, curated by Sarah Maxfield at the Museum of Arts and Design (2012) and at Abrons Arts Center (2013).  Laurie has performed in the work of Larissa Velez-Jackson/Yackez, Heather Kravas, Megan Byrne, Sasha Welsh, Laura Diffenderfer, and Christine Elmo among others. In 2010 she appeared in Tom Murrin’s The Talking Show, at PS122, directed by Lucy Sexton. Laurie currently co-produces AUNTS, an underground platform for dance and performance, with Liliana Dirks-Goodman.  Hijinks include naked flash mobs and oversized turkeys falling from the sky.  Her jewelry work can be seen around the necks of many NYC artists.
