Richard Move and MoveOpolis!

Under the Direction of Richard Move, along with a dynamic Advisory Board, MoveOpolis! serves as the umbrella organization for a range of multi-disciplinary projects with the mission to provide a supportive, nurturing infrastructure for the collective’s ventures, collaborators and artistic goals. The works of Richard Move and MoveOpolis! include live performance, dance, theater, film, video and literary scholarship on performance, dance and media arts. The projects of Richard Move and MoveOpolis! broaden the scope, definition and understanding of the arts, while cultivating, expanding and educating audiences.
Richard Move is Artistic Director of MoveOpolis! His commissions include productions for Mikhail Baryshnikov and the White Oak Dance Project, Martha Dance Graham Company, American Festival of Paris, Florence Opera Ballet, European Cultural Capitol, Guggenheim Museum, Deborah Harry, Dame Shirley Bassey, Isaac Mizrahi and New York City Ballet Principal, Helene Alexopolous. His films include: Bardo, Jury Prize nominee at Lincoln Center’s Dance on Camera Festival, BloodWork-The Ana Mendieta Story, National Board of Review Award at Director’s Guild of America, GhostLight, Tribeca Film Festival premiere and GIMP-The Documentary, presently in production. Martha@…The 1963 Interview, presented at New York Live Arts, was named “Best of 2011” by ARTFORUM International and Time Out, among many others. Move is a TEDGlobal Oxford Fellow, received his M.F.A. in Media Arts Production from The City College of New York and is PhD (ABD) in Performance Studies at New York University. He is Lecturer in Design at the Yale School of Drama.
