Lily Baldwin is a filmmaker and dancer. Noteworthy films include her VR experience Through You (Sundance), Swallowed (Criterion Collection, Women of Cinefamily with Chris Kraus) from Collective:unconscious, Sleepover LA (SXSW, Berlinale EFM), A Juice Box Afternoon (Lincoln Center, Detroit Institute of the Arts) and Sea Meadow (SXSW, V&A Museum London, Art Basel Miami, Academy-Qualifying theatrical run). She directed Misty Copeland (Carnegie Hall) a documentary for Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. Upcoming projects are Underaged: a series starring real NYC teenagers, Terrain, her next VR installation with Saschka Unseld and a podcast, Stories of The Stalked. She is presented by Lief for commercial production and managed by Labor Party for all else.
As a professional dancer Lily has performed with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Faye Driscoll, Netta Yerushalmy, Doug Varone, David Neumann. She danced with David Byrne on his Everything That Happens Will Happen World Tour, choreographed by Annie B. Parson, Noemie La France and Robbinschild, and in its documentary Ride Rise Roar (SXSW). She has presented work at multiple NYC venues including Joyce SoHo, Dixon Place and Mulberry Street Theatre and was the choreographer of the PERFORMA ’09 opening at Times Square with Arto Lindsay.
Lily has participated in the Screenwriter’s Colony Fellowship and Independent Film Week’s Emerging Storytellers in NYC. Her speaking/teaching credits include Jacksonville University, University of Michigan and School of Visual Arts. She was a juror for the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival Storyscapes Competition and 2018 World VR Forum and most recently a panelist for PillowTalks at Jacob’s Pillow.
