LoudHoundMovement

LoudHoundMovement (LHM), a New York City-based contemporary dance collective creates and performs the choreographic work of Co-Artistic Directors Brendan Duggan and Mallory Lynn.  Founded in 2012, LoudHoundMovement was created in response to rushed artistic processes, facilitating an emphasis on honest compositional investigation and research.

Often collaborating directly with the performers, the work researches the representation of emotional experiences presented on stage through a contemporary movement vocabulary.  With this in mind, LHM fosters a creation process where the dancers feel supported and bold in their decision making.  Eventually, through consistent peer feedback and idea exchange, the work is able to evolve into a larger representation than shape, musicality, and flow.

In order to create a consistent environment, confluent message, and a diverse repertory, LHM often collaborates with artists in a range of mediums including dance, theater, multimedia, set design, and costume design.

LoudHound premiered its first evening of work at the Center for Performance Research in November of 2012. Since then, LHM has premiered work a total of four times at the CURRENT SESSIONS, Gallim Dance Block Party, The Playground After Dark, Dance Gallery Festival at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, FAB! Festival NYC, Gowanus Art + Production (GAP) Open Studios, and in 2013, presented their first evening length at GAP’s The Green Building.
