Founded in 2010, NVA & Guests was created to produce and spread the work of the artistic director/choreographer Nicole von Arx. Her work provides the audience with a vast array of projects and collaborations ranging from contemporary dance, film, photography and creative workshops. She offers an artistic experience that engages, challenges, and immerses audiences into both the educational and experiential aspects of her choreography.

Von Arx is dedicated to fostering innovative, honest and inspiring relationships between the performers, collaborative artists and institutions involved. And even more, she seeks to embrace creative risk and intimacy to portray universal and captivating works. The company also aims to produce and present work worldwide creating bridges between people and culture, consequently giving the opportunity for an exchange of emotions and thoughts.


Born in England and raised in Switzerland, Nicole is a freelance choreographer and performer living between New York and Geneva, Switzerland. As a performer, she has worked for Carte Blanche (The Norwegian National Company of Contemporary Dance), Loni Landon Dance Projects, Stefanie Nelson Dance Group, The Metropolitan Opera in New York and Chicago Lyric Opera. Most recently, Nicole was a soloist at the Royal Opera House in London in the critically acclaimed opera Tannhäuser, directed by Tim Albery and choreographed by Jasmin Vardimon. In 2013, she participated in the 6th Copenhagen International Choreography Competition while dancing for the choreographer Bryan Arias, winning 1st place and Audience Choice Award.

As a choreographer, Nicole has presented her work at the Flux Laboratory in Switzerland, at Reykjavík 2011 Culture Night in Iceland, and in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. In New York, her choreography appeared on stage at The Current Sessions, The Dance Gallery Festival, at the Alvin Ailey Theatre, at the Dumbo Dance Festival, at Triskelion and at Gowanus Arts in Brooklyn. In 2011 and 2015, she was commissioned and invited to choreograph on the students from The Alvin Ailey School and SUNY Purchase. Nicole is currently dancing in New York for Company XIV.
