Sarah Horne / SoHa Dance

Sarah Horne is a choreographer, arts administrator, and performing artist based in New York City. She grew up on the island of St. Croix (USVI) and around the world in places like Rome, Italy, and Bangkok, Thailand. Sarah received her BFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport, where her passion for choreography also started. Growing up in an international multicultural environment and experiencing the vitality of diverse ethnic traditions profoundly influences her artistic voice. After graduating from college, Sarah attended New York University and received an MA in Performing Arts Administration. After moving to NYC in 2009, she fell in love with the people and vibe of Harlem. Connecting with communities by encouraging choreographic presentation by local artists, herself included, is the priority of this organization. Sarah's performance credits include works by Anne Burnidge, Bill Evans, Kelly Kavanaugh, Jostle, and Juanita Suarez. Sarah also holds an MA from NYU in Performing Arts Administration.

Sarah Horne founded SoHa Dance in 2011 so that she could combine her artistic passions with her interest in community development and social advocacy. SoHa Dance stands for Sarah Horne Dance in South Harlem (but also means “so be it" in Tibetan). Our mission is to encourage positive human connections through movement and choreographic presentation.
