Annual Student Concerts

New York Live Arts Theater
June 10 @ 2:00PM & 7:30pm
June 11 @ 2:00PM
Adults $15, Students $10

Culminating a year’s work with dance educator and choreographer Ellen Robbins, each student creates his or her own dance solo, steeped in the unmistakable individualism that resides in every child. Their works span a variety of theater experiences: humorous, dramatic, lyrical, minimal, abstract. Music selections also cover a broad range from Bach to Jazz, Pop, Meredith Monk and beyond.
Each of the 3 unique concerts consist of solos by the students, ages 8 – 18, and the following group pieces: 6/10 at 2:00pm – Space Fantasy (music by Varese and Webern) and Garden Party (music by Schubert) 6/10 at 7:30pm Ode (music by) and Swatch, (music by Thelonius Monk, Nino Rota, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Clemens Herbert). 6/11 at 2:00pm,: The Wedding of the Mouse (music by Kimio Eto) and alumni pieces by Krista Jansen, Amelia Sanders, Rakhel Shapiro, and Lou Sydel.
