Tickets go on sale in Fall 2018
New York Live Arts’ dynamic showcase of new and recent works by Live Arts commissioned artists, the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and curated guests is presented during the Association of Performing Arts Professionals’ annual conference and will feature full theater productions, recently premiered works, and new studio presentations. A special highlight is Jack Ferver’s Everything Is Imaginable January 7, 2019, 10 PM, Jan 8-12, 2019, 8 PM.
Remounted as part of Live Artery, Ferver’s two-act work deals with fantasy, friendship, loneliness, sexuality, and the trauma of growing up gay in America. In turns manic and poetic, his visionary direction blurs boundaries between fantastic theatrics and stark naturalism, character and self, humor and horror. Assembling a cast of well-known dancers, Ferver is joined by American Ballet Theater principal dancer James Whiteside, Martha Graham Dance Company principal dancer Lloyd Knight, dancer and costume designer Reid Bartelme, and Broadway actor Garen Scribner, each channeling his childhood idols: Martha Graham, the figure skater Brian Boitano, My Little Pony, and Catwoman.
“It is hard not to be instantly won over by Jack Ferver’s ‘Everything Is Imaginable’, which opened with a bespangled bang,” writes the New York Times after reviewing Ferver’s acclaimed dance piece in April 2018 at New York Live Arts.
