Making its New York Live Arts debut, Battery Dance presents Battery Dance NOW, featuring the work of three female choreographers. This high-energy program highlights three artists using contemporary dance and commissioned music to express responses to specific emotions or moments in culture.
Robin Cantrell’s “Liminal Year” captures an instinctive resistance to isolation and the need to fight against fear. In “It Goes by Quick,” Ana Maria Lucaciu, explores the urgency and frustration of seeing time slip away. “A Certain Mood” by Tsai Hsi Hung was inspired by the vibrant color and bold technique of the abstract expressionist painter Hans Hofmann.

After tours in Germany, Palestinian Territories, Indonesia, and Vietnam in 2022, Battery Dance is proud to present their 47th annual New York City Season.
