Live Feed In Process: What will we be like when we get there
New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” award winner for Outstanding Emerging Choreographer, Joanna Kotze presents a work-in- progress of her new interdisciplinary dance performance What will we be like when we get there. Created and performed by Kotze and long-time collaborators dancer/choreographer Netta Yerushalmy, visual artist Jonathan Allen and composer/musician Ryan Seaton, the new work uses location as a collaborator to explore physical, emotional and artistic spectrums while reflecting on the desire for intimacy and greater impact. As our lives continue to be dependent on and driven by media, Kotze is interested in bringing attention to our humanness – our desires, flaws, strengths and fantasies.
The Live Feed creative residency program is a laboratory for the development of new commissioned work directed toward our theater. This informal workshop showing offers a sneak peek into resident artist, Joanna Kotze’s process and ideas before they hit out stage. Taking place within the intimate working space of the Live Arts studio, each showing is followed by a discussion with the artist moderated by special guests and Live Arts staff.
