Happy Hour
Chase Strangio (@chasestrangio) is an attorney and activist who has spent the past 15 years working in movements for queer and trans justice. For the past three and a half years, he has represented incarcerated transparency activist Chelsea Manning in her lawsuit against the Department of Defense for denial of health care related to her gender dysphoria and is currently part of the legal teams challenging North Carolina’s anti-trans law, HB2, and representing transgender teenager, Gavin Grimm, at the Supreme Court.
Currently at the ACLU, he previously served as Director of Prisoner Justice Initiatives at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, a collective organization in New York City fighting for trans justice through an economic and racial justice lens.
