Jared Katzman / Rachel Kunstadt

 

Jared Katzman (they/them) is an engineer working on a diverse set of applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. They graduated from Yale University cum laude with a BS in Computer Science. Previously, Jared studied the intersection of data science and humanities and worked on projects ranging from studying the politicization of religious institutions through web scraping public data to applying deep learning to actuarial science to better predict risks of breast cancer treatments. Jared has previously won the AirForce’s national cyber security competition CyberPatriot, presented their research at the Computational Biology Workshop at the International Conference on Machine Learning, and attended working sessions at the White House LGBTQ+ Tech Innovation Summit. Now, Jared works in the AI Labs of Amazon Web Services based in NYC. Jared has research experience applying deep learning to health care, cyber security, and natural language processing. And they are seeking ways to use artificial intelligence for social good. In their spare time, Jared volunteers as the founding Program Lead for Out in Tech U’s Digital Mentorship Program, an 8-week intensive for LGBTQ+ college students across the country to work on technical projects with paired mentors (https://outintech.com/u/). Rachel Kunstadt is a musical theatre writer (librettist/lyricist), playwright, artistic director, and theatre producer based in NYC. She holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU-Tisch and a BA in Individualized Study from NYU-Gallatin, with the self-designed concentration Musical Theatre & The American Dream. Rachel is the founding artistic director of Quintessence of Dust (www.qodtheatre.org), a non-profit theatre company that focuses on mental health advocacy, and the producer behind the sold-out staged readings of Significant Other (starring Tony nominee Ethan Slater) and Next to Normal (starring Tony nominee Christiane Noll). Previously, Rachel ran LezCab, a popular cabaret series by, for, and about queer women. As a writer, Rachel’s works have been performed Off-Off-Broadway and in various cabaret and concert venues throughout NYC. She is currently writing an autobiographical musical about her experience as a teenager with agoraphobia. Rachel sits on the Young Professionals Advisory Board of NAMI, and she is a member of The Dramatists Guild and ASCAP. She resides in Manhattan with her shih tzu, Bernie. www.rachelkunstadt.com
