Nefertiti Charlene Altán
Nefertiti Charlene Altán is a queer, afro-indígena transdisciplinary performance artist, feminist activist, facilitator, producer and language interpreter. The daughter of Guatemalan migrants, descendant of Maya, Xinka, Pipil, Central and West African peoples, she has collaborated with cultural workers from Africa, the Americas and Europe, in site-immersive experimental dance, theater, music and film, as well as in grassroots social movements. She has an MFA in dance from Saint Mary’s College of California and received a technical degree in dance from the Bahia State Cultural Foundation in Salvador, Bahia, Brasil.
