CORPS: Live Feed In-Process (Cancelled)

New York Live Arts Studios
*This event has been cancelled

*Please note that this event have been canceled: As the coronavirus (Covid-19) situation has evolved in NYC, New York Live Arts has decided to cancel Milka Djordjevich’s Live Feed In-Process showing of “CORPS”.
CORPS is a new work by Los Angeles-based choreographer Milka Djordjevich examining labor and the feminine body through the lens of regimented movement, and reveals similarities across traditional, militaristic, ritual, athletic, and folk movement forms. The work is a continuation of Djordjevich’s ongoing questioning of contemporary dance’s preoccupation with neutrality, anonymity and the de-sexualization of the female body. CORPS aims to unravel the history of patriarchal militaristic conditioning of regimented movement and reclaim its manipulation, control and suppression of female bodies. The evening-length dance is developed with an esteemed professional group of six dancers, Laurel Atwell, Dorothy Dubrule, Allie Hankins, Tiara Jackson, Daeun Jung and devika wickremesinghe, composer Chris Peck and lighting designer Madeline Best, and scenic designer Shannon Scrofano.

The Live Feed creative residency program supports and nurtures the development of new work with residencies and commissions generated over two years.

Lead support of Live Feed is generously provided by Partners for New Performance and Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
