Prompted and provoked by the subtle tension existing between Clifford Ross’s computer-generated magisterial vision, Digital Waves and the enclosure of the National Gallery’s imposing, marble, neoclassical Rotunda, Bill T. Jones and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company takes the circle as both plot and metaphor. The circle with all of its references promises transcendence and this new work delivers an uplifting and spiritual experience.
