Fragments, Lists & Lacunae

New York Live Arts Theater
Feb 13-15, 2020
Runtime approx. 2 Hours
Tickets start at $15

Fragments, Lists & Lacunae focuses on three college students who are taking a course about gaps, holes, blanks, and white space – examples include the 18-minute gap in Nixon’s White House tapes, Sappho’s poetry, Swiss cheese, the 12 Steps, and the politics of “disappearance.” In a series of nine lectures, their professor, played by Butler, offers multimedia provocations on absence, silence, negation and nothingness. Meanwhile, the students’ class notes and their personal notes to each other – all projected overhead – dramatize the lived meanings of the course’s concepts.
Joining Butler on stage will include a cast featuring Hailey Marmolejo, Aigner Mizzelle, and Jackie Rivera. The production team brings together Maruti Evans (Set Design), Nic Vincent (Lighting Design), Oana Botez (Costume Design), CultureHub (Video Design), and John Gasper (Sound Design).

February 14, Stay Late Conversation with Dee Morris.
