2025 Season

Hide and seek is not just a game we play with others, but one we play with ourselves. Ariel Rivka Dance’s 17th season explores the nature of performance–what we reveal outwardly, and what we keep closed off. Rooted in Ariel’s experience of parenthood, the season showcases the full emotional spectrum of being alive, from the painful to the beautiful. Beloved company pieces, Rust and Mossy, are paired with Converge and Lead Me, dances created virtually during the pandemic. Each of these dances captures a moment in time, but taken together they tell a story of immense growth and change. The varied, dynamic program, featuring new lighting designs and costumes, culminates in a world premiere work, made in collaboration with musician Summer Dregs who will perform live. This honest piece questions authenticity, and in that questioning reveals truths that we need to face in these complex, raw–yet enlightening–times.
