Live Feed In-Process – I hunger for you
In I hunger for you, deeply internalized forces of faith, violence, life force, and compassion pulse through bodies that exist in a mesmerizing, starkly beautiful, often dangerous world. In a world defined by light and is absence, the work looks deeply into the heart of the impulse to lose oneself in ecstasy, ritual, desire, and searching, riding an edge of barely controlled abandon and vibrating stillness.
I hunger for you is a two-phase choreographic work. I hunger for you (1) will be presented during BAM Next Wave 2018 following World Premiere performances at LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts Center, as part of an inaugural year BAM/LUMBERYARD partnership. The project will continue with I hunger for you (2), commissioned by New York Live Arts for fall 2019, and developed during New York Live Art’s Live Feed Residency Program.
The Live Feed creative residency program is a laboratory for the development of new commissioned work directed toward our theater. This informal workshop showing offers a sneak peek into the artist’s process and ideas before they hit our stage. Taking place within the intimate working space of the Live Arts studio, each showing is followed by a discussion with the artist moderated by special guests and Live Arts staff.
