RACE: Talc & Ash (Live Artery In-Progress)

Holly Bass’ RACE: Talc & Ash is a movement duet piece about gentrification, race and class. The original performance focused on Washington, DC and new iterations will explore Chelsea/Hudson Yards in New York City, and Detroit, MI. The performance is set up like a sporting event, complete with a pre-show tailgate party and live commentators. A series of community workshops were held leading up to the performance and voices from the community were woven into the soundtrack.
