“This is why we go to see dance. This is why performers who are underexposed must be given exposure.” – TheaterScene.net
BalaSole Dance Company continues to bridge visibility gaps in the world of concert dance by featuring underrepresented dance artists of various shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds. Each artist will perform a solo that showcases his or her full artistic talent and identity. Every BalaSole concert features a different roster of dance artists. Past participants include members of the Limon Dance Company and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. BalaSole was founded by Executive/Artistic Director Roberto Villanueva, who has been praised by The New York Times “for the deftness and technical control of his dancing.”
BalaSole Dance Company is presented as part of Dance Theater Workshop’s Guest Artist Series, a subsidized, comprehensive, curated rental program serving a wide range of dance and performance artists from around the world.
