The Ballet Academy East 2017 Winter Performance presents the talented students of the Pre-Professional Division in a diverse program guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages. The program will include a world premiere by choreographer William Whitener set to the enchanting music of Shostakovich, Khachaturian, Prokofiev and more, in Raymond Clarke’s Piano Music for Children. Jenna Lavin will present two new ballets – one, an intimate piece highlighting the lyricism and artistic aplomb of the BAE students with music composed by César Franck, and the other, an exciting tour de force featuring a cast of forty five dancers set to composer Edvard Grieg’s much-loved Holberg Suite. And, to complete this joyful and inspiring program, a special presentation of a ballet by Chloe Harper, first presented as part of BAE’s very successful and popular Student Choreographic Workshop.
