Shatter The Glass Productions

Conceived by Adriana Nocco and Emily J Whalen, Shatter The Glass Productions is a new company aiming to bridge gaps and break down barriers, both within the New York City live performance scene and the entertainment industry at large. We believe that art is inherently political, and should be treated as such. STG aims to produce work that is engaging, impactful, and accessible to diverse audiences. We strive to amplify underrepresented voices, catalyze change, and to “shatter the glass ceilings” that contribute to industry gatekeeping.

Our goal is to gather and galvanize community, and to create safe spaces in which artists of different backgrounds can share their talents and tell their stories. Performance opportunities can be difficult to come by, especially in New York City, for various reasons that are out of artists’ control. We aim to provide folks with opportunities to create and perform more frequently, and to do so as their authentic, unapologetic selves. We also want to make our events as accessible as possible to folks with disabilities who are frequently excluded from consideration when it comes to the theatre scene. We are dedicated to doing so by prioritizing accessible venues, hiring ASL interpreters, and ensuring that we are thoroughly diversifying not only our casts and crews, but our audiences as well.
