Choreographer Arkadi Zaides, born in Byelorussia in 1979, immigrated to Israel in 1990, currently lives and creates in Tel Aviv. Zaides holds a degree from the Amsterdam Master Of Choreography program at the Theater School (The Netherlands). He danced in Batsheva Dance Company and in Yasmeen Godder Dance Group, among others, until he began his independent career in 2004.
In the last 7 years, Zaides’ work has focused primarily on the political and social situation in Israel/Palestine. He is one of the few Israeli choreographers that engages the local political reality through his artistic practice and works constantly to spark critical debate.
