The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and Members of the Tectonic Theater Project, directed by Johanna Pinzler. The Laramie Project is a piece of documentary theater created by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project in 2000. The play documents the reaction to the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming gay student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The murder was denounced as a hate crime and brought attention to the lack of hate crime legislation in various states, including Wyoming. The time to revisit this story is, most definitely, now.
