SHE

In honor of both Women’s History Month (March) and Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) I have created SHE, a multi-media production that addresses violence against women and girls in America, on our planet.  In our nation 1 out of 4 women or girls are survivors of some form of sexual violence.  Across the globe it is 1 out of 3, or over 1 billion women and girls.  The work will feature non-dancer women who are survivors of sexual violence.  The women have shared their stories, allowed me to translate their stories into dance narrative and have agreed to perform along side professional dancers.  They have volunteered to participate as a means of their own healing journey, and for the audience.
